Carson Campaign Calls on Trump to Apologize for Faith Comments

Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson‘s business manager on Thursday called on Donald Trump to apologize for suggesting that Carson is faking his faith.

“We believe that he may have been angry … he may have been hurt,” Armstrong Williams said of Trump’s comments Thursday morning.

Speaking to CNN earlier in the day, the business magnate said he does not believe Carson is a “great religious figure” or is running his campaign based on his faith, and questioned whether the former neurosurgeon is actually pro-life. The criticisms came shortly after Carson questioned Trump’s newfound Christian faith.

Williams, appearing on CNN later Thursday morning, said Trump should reach out to Carson and apologize once and for all to settle the quarrel between the two surging candidates. Recent polls show that Carson is gaining ground and cutting into Trump’s massive lead among the GOP candidates.
