Charlie Sykes: Republicans Have Allied ‘With a Mad King,’ But Are Trying to Pretend He’s Normal

On ABC’s This Week this morning, Charlie Sykes––who just came out with a book How the Right Lost Its Mind––said that Republicans have thrown in with a “mad king.”

Sykes told George Stephanopoulos that over the past week, Bob Corker‘s been saying publicly about President Trump what a lot of Republicans “are thinking, but are not willing to say in public.”

The problem the party has, he continued, is that they’ve “allied themselves with a mad king” and are “trying to pretend that he’s normal.”

Sykes recommended that conservatives need to show more tough love instead of enabling the President’s behavior.

Van Jones backed up Sykes on this and said, “We are so into the crazy now that when something significant happens, we don’t notice.”
