‘Check Yourself’: Don Lemon Says People Need to ‘Stop Pretending Racism Doesn’t Exist’

don lemonCNN anchor Don Lemon gave President Obama credit this afternoon for his somber words at the Dallas police memorial service and told his critics, “Check yourself.”

He said that Obama’s words were exactly the same as George W. Bush‘s and the Dallas police chief’s, and yet he said there was a lot of “hate” on social media directed at the president.

Lemon criticized more liberal critics of the Dallas chief too before saying, “Stop pretending that racism doesn’t exist, that bias doesn’t exist in this culture.”

He also revealed that just this past weekend, as he was talking with a group of friends, someone said to the only other African-American in the group, “How does that make you feel as a n*gger?”

Lemon said he was shocked and asked, “Is this 2016?”
