Cheney Won’t Take Foreign Policy Advice from Bill Clinton, But ‘We Can Compare Notes on Hearts’

Former Vice President Dick Cheney appeared on Fox & Friends Wednesday morning and warned that the Obama administration’s supposed disregard for proliferating terrorist groups left the United States at risk to what cohost Elisabeth Hasselbeck called “something worse than 9-11.”

“I think that’s a possibility,” Cheney said. “I can’t say specifically at this point when something like that might happen. But it would be foolish for us to ignore the extent to which there are terror-sponsoring states who tried to provide nuclear technology. …Access to those kinds of capabilities I think is on the increase.”

The hosts also asked Cheney to respond to former President Bill Clinton’s comment yesterday over Cheney’s “unseemly” criticism of the Obama administration for not “cleaning up the mess he’d made” in Iraq.

“Well, I usually haven’t looked at Bill for advice,” Cheney replied. “We can compare notes on hearts. I got a new one.”

“[Clinton] also warned about weapons of mass destruction and the possibility that if Saddam had them, which they believed he did, that he would some day use them,” Cheney reminded the hosts.
