During his lengthy interview on Morning Joe today, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie said he wouldn’t have pardoned Joe Arpaio if the decision was up to him.
He said one of the prerequisites for a pardon is “contrition,” and “I didn’t see that in Sheriff Arpaio.”
Christie said he personally wouldn’t have pardoned Arpaio, but did defend the President’s right to do so.
