Chris Cuomo and Gaetz Battle Over Russia Probe: Mueller’s ‘More Republican Than You’ve Been on Your Best Day!’

CNN’s Chris Cuomo got heated with Congressman Matt Gaetz tonight over Paul Manafort ahead of his second sentencing.

Gaetz said the “important context for the country” is that the “ugly stuff” Manafort did had nothing to do with President Donald Trump. Cuomo shot back there’s a serious question of what Trump knew.

“Paul Manafort colluded with people connected to Russian interference,” he continued.

“Is this a polling argument?” Gaetz asked. “Sharing the polling?”

He laughed and asked Cuomo if he’s serious bringing up the polling data issue. “This is what collusion is,” Cuomo responded.

At one point when Cuomo pointed to what Robert Mueller said on the matter, Gaetz went off on the special counsel’s office and saying it’s full of people who donated to Democrats.

“Bob Mueller is more Republican than you’ve been on your best day!” Cuomo shot back.

Gaetz ripped Mueller’s office and claimed that there’s evidence that his team was trying to force people to “lie about Trump.” Cuomo asked him what proof he has of that, and Gaetz pointed to Jerome Corsi‘s public comments.

“That’s what he says,” Cuomo countered. “You don’t have any proof that’s what happened, Mr. What’s Your Evidentiary Standard. Jerome Corsi, not somebody that I think you would hang your hat on as a credibility contest, now you want to take his word on? I can’t take Mueller’s word, but you want to take Corsi’s word.”
