Chris Cuomo, Lawrence O’Donnell Featured in RNC Attack Ad on Hillary Emails
Well, that was fast. Less than 24 hours after The New York Times broke its story about Hillary Clinton possibly violated federal law by exclusively using a private email account during her tenure as Secretary of State, the Republican National Committee has released a new ad that attacks her for those actions.
The spot, posted to the GOP YouTube page Tuesday morning, features nothing more than a series of news clips about the revelation that have aired since Monday night. Featured in the ad are Fox News’ Martha MacCallum, but also CNN’s Chris Cuomo and MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell, who are generally perceived to fall on the liberal side of the spectrum (especially O’Donnell, who is part of his network’s primetime commentary-heavy lineup).
By highlighting cable commentators who have already started to take Clinton to task for this apparent lack of transparency, the Republican Party is doing its best to target the inevitability of her campaign before it has officially begun.
