Chris Christie said today the reason the media attacks him on his refugee stance is because they don’t have the responsibility he does to keep people safe.
Christie took a pretty hardline position two weeks ago when he said the United States shouldn’t be allowing in any refugees, even “orphans under five,” because the appropriate vetting is not in place.
On MediaBuzz today, Howard Kurtz asked him, “Do you think the press approach to this issue has been balanced? Or are the media largely portraying people like you as heartless?”
Christie said the latter, explaining, “It’s easy for them to do because they have no responsibility. They have no responsibility for protecting the lives of the people in the state of New Jersey or the people in this country.”
He disagreed with GOP rivals that Christian refugees should be admitted, saying that absolutely none should come in.
