Christie on Confrontation With Cubs Fan: ‘If You Give It, You’re Gonna Get It Back’
Chris Christie says he regrets nothing about his contentious encounter with a Chicago Cubs fan who heckled him in Milwaukee this past weekend.
The New Jersey governor joined CNN’s Jake Tapper on Monday night, where they argued about whether President Trump signaled his approval for police brutality during his speech last week. After that, Tapper brought up that much-maligned viral video from the Brewers game, asking Christie whether he ever thinks twice about these kinds of things.
Christie responded with “no,” and he talked about how he always hits back at anyone who repeatedly slams him in public.
“I’ve always said this – whether it was my town hall meetings or any place else – if you give it, you’re gonna get it back,” Christie said. “I think that was a mellow reaction from a New Jersey governor to say you’re a real big shot.”
