Chuck Todd Gets 5PM MSNBC Show, Kate Snow Gets 2-Hour Daytime Block

NBC has confirmed what our own media columnist Joe Concha reported weeks ago: Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd will host a daily MSNBC program, and veteran reporter Kate Snow will anchor the two hours prior to his.

In a Thursday press release, MSNBC chief Phil Griffin announced that Snow will take over the weekday 3-5 p.m. blocks, and Todd will host MTP Daily at 5 p.m.

Snow’s expanded presence also extends to NBC News, where she will now anchor the Sunday edition of NBC Nightly News, the network announced.

The new MSNBC shows reflect the network’s desire to shift towards harder news coverage (also: don’t forget Brian Williams starts shortly as their breaking news reporter), after Griffin slashed a handful of progressive-heavy talk shows from the weekday lineup (Now with Alex Wagner, The Cycle, The Reid Report, Ronan Farrow Daily, PoliticsNation with Al Sharpton, and The Ed Show).
