In the wake of Roy Moore‘s loss in Alabama last week, Chuck Todd took note of how he’s not the first Senate candidate to cost the GOP a seat.
On Meet the Press, George Will noted how “extraordinarily flawed” Moore was, though he did note Steve Bannon and President Trump supported him and the results were very close.
Todd went on to bring up the “various missed opportunities” thanks to “flawed candidates” in the GOP, from Sharron Angle to Christine O’Donnell to Todd Akin.
He totaled them up and concluded, “That’s six Senate seats you could argue that they’ve handed to Democrats.”
Former American Conservative Union chair Al Cardenas said, “Flawed candidates have been too much a part of our history in a primary.”
