Meet the Press host Chuck Todd spoke with Willie Geist on Sunday Today this morning about when, if ever, the public will be able to see President Trump‘s tax returns.
“If we ever see his tax returns,” Todd said, “and I do think we will at some point, it is going to be because some government entity forced them public.”
He suggested they could come out as a result of a subpoena from one of the Russia investigations on Capitol Hill, or perhaps as a result of some Democratic states’ attempts to ensure that any candidate who wants to be on the ballot must release their tax returns first.
But given how the president slammed the Tax Day marchers today and dismissed away the complaints about him not releasing his returns, it’s unlikely Trump would ever voluntarily release them.
