Meet the Press host Chuck Todd grew visibly frustrated with U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch when she described the San Bernardino terrorists as “lone wolves.”
“We’ve been hearing this for six years. That the threat has changed,” he said. “It looks like we have no new ways to stop this threat. I mean, do we have to just accept the idea that this is the way we have to live now? Accept the idea that a ‘lone wolf’ inspired by an ISIS website could just mow people down?”
“I don’t think we should ever accept the idea that someone can come along and take away our safety and our freedom,” Lynch responded.
She also noted that while terrorists have kept evolving, so too have law enforcement’s capabilities in identifying, preventing and prosecuting possible and actual terrorist threats.
