Chuck Todd blasted the White House Friday in a monologue that openly mocked the administration for the steady trickle of new revelations about Donald Trump Jr.’s meeting with a Russian lawyer which have been reported throughout the week.
During a four-minute monologue on MTP Daily, Todd criticized the White House for not telling the full story right up front.
“Their responses this week have proven to be incomplete at best and untrue at worst,” Todd said.
The MSNBC host was speaking about an NBC News report earlier Friday, about a previously unknown person who attended the meeting. That person was later reported to be Rinat Akhmetshin, a former Soviet counterintelligence officer who is now a lobbyist.
Todd played various clips from earlier in the week of White House officials denying that any further details would emerge from the meeting. After each denial, he said, mockingly, “But really, that’s it.” Then, he proceeded to report a new detail from the meeting which was reported after the White House denial.
Adding it all up, he reached this conclusion:
“Folks, this week has been a giant PR, political, and possibly legal disaster for this administration.”
