Chuck Todd confronted Roy Moore campaign strategist Dean Young earlier tonight about Kayla Moore responding to anti-Semitism accusations by saying, “One of our attorneys is a Jew.”
Todd asked, “Does Mrs. Moore understand why so many Jewish folks are offended by what she said, how she said it, and the tone she used?”
Young said she was just making the point that “they have friends all over the spectrum” and said if she offended anyone, “she didn’t mean to.”
Todd also brought up the viral clip of an Alabama man making heartfelt comments about a daughter he lost to suicide and what Moore has said publicly about gay individuals like his daughter.
Todd asked Young if Moore thinks homosexuality should be illegal. (This was minutes after a Moore campaign spokesman said Moore “probably” thinks so.)
Young said, “No, but he disagrees with it,” adding that Moore believes homosexuality is “not the normal course of life for people.”
