CNN’s Ali Velshi Goes Ballistic On Fiscal Cliff: ‘No More Details,’ Today Is The Day To ‘Make A Deal’

CNN’s Ali Velshi slammed Congressional leaders for their “irresponsible, disgusting behavior” in talks about the fiscal cliff, and said “today isn’t the day” for “details”, but now is the time to “stop this economy from going over the edge.”

In discussing Republican opposition to Social Security increases based on the Consumer Price Index, Velshi said “whether you like that or not” isn’t important at this stage of the game. Velshi wants to know, “Why are we having this conversation with a day and a half to go?”

He went on to slam Republican Senator John Thune (R-SD) for desiring to open a detailed discussion on the fiscal cliff now:

“When John Thune says he hopes that Senator Reid brings a bill to the floor and it is open to discussion and amendment, not today. Not today. It’s too late for that. Make a deal and stop markets from going over the edge.”

“They will ruin a good economy,” Velshi added of Senate leaders. “It’s absolute irresponsibility. It’s Congressional malpractice.”
