CNN Anchor Breaks Down Remembering Newtown Tragedy

During a Saturday morning broadcast on CNN’s New Day weekend edition, anchor Christi Paul appeared especially moved while discussing the one year anniversary of the massacre of teachers and school children in Newtown, Connecticut. As her voice welled up with emotion, Paul implored her audience to pay special attention to their children today.

Paul began by remembering what it was like to broadcast on the day of that tragedy, and how children from neighboring communities tried to east eh pain of the families who lost loved ones in that attack.

“It was frightening for kids,” Paul said. “You are trying to watch and explain to your kids”

“We wish you peace,” she continued as her voice broke with emotion. “We are praying for you still. We hope for you still and for your children.”
