Former Florida Republican governor Charlie Crist spoke at the Democratic National Convention tonight in support of President Obama. Crist was guaranteed to be one of the most notable speakers this week for the simple fact that he used to be a popular Republican governor. Artur Davis, a former Democrat, switched parties recently and got a prominent speaking slot at the RNC last week. Both men have been referred to by their most ardent detractors as “turncoats” from their respective parties.
During Crist’s speech, CNN ran a chyron referring to the governor as a “Republican turncoat.” Here’s a screengrab of the graphic:
