CNN Delays Coverage of Trump’s Border Wall Speech To Talk About Mary Tyler Moore

With President Donald Trump scheduled to deliver a much anticipated speech this afternoon at the Department of Homeland Security regarding his executive order on the building of a border wall with Mexico, CNN made an interesting editorial decision as Trump began speaking.

Shortly before the start of his speech, it was announced that television legend Mary Tyler Moore had passed away at the age of 80. After airing an in memoriam video clip, host Brooke Baldwin brought on Larry King to discuss Moore’s life and his own personal interactions with her.

As Baldwin and King talked about Moore’s personal and professional life and accomplishments, Trump stepped up to the podium. While the other cable news networks were focused on the speech and carrying it from the start, Baldwin was listening to King commentate on Moore’s marriages.

Eventually, Baldwin was able to wrap up the conversation with King and CNN switched over to Trump’s address in progress.
