CNN No Longer Allowing Nancy Grace To Appear On Good Morning America

The New York Post reports it as if it is a scandalous fact, but apparently CNN Worldwide is no longer allowing HLN host Nancy Grace to appear on ABC’s Good Morning America.

According to the Post’s sources, CNN chief Jeff Zucker is “banning all CNN and HLN personalities from appearing on GMA.” The source adds that Grace’s highly-rated segments in which she battles Mediaite founder Dan Abrams are the “issue” behind the “ban.”

Of course, while some might see this as salacious insider news, it is actually common practice in the TV business. For instance, you never see Rachel Maddow appear on Fox News or CNN; and you certainly never see Bill O’Reilly on other networks unless he has a book to promote.

A CNN spokesperson said exactly that to the Post:

“While it is true that Nancy no longer appears on ‘GMA,’ it has nothing to do with banning [particular] clients. Like every other cable network and broadcast outlet with a morning show, we ask that CNN/HLN talent not appear on other network’s morning shows, unless they are promoting a book or a personal project.”

So… par for the course.

But let us here at Mediaite take a few seconds to mourn the loss of those epic Nancy Grace vs. Dan Abrams battles. You shall be missed. Here’s a classic sample:
