CNN Panel Slams Fox Guest’s ‘Highly Irresponsible’ Suggestion of Assassination Conspiracy

On CNN this afternoon, Jake Tapper and his panel incredulously reacted to a Fox News contributor just kind of throwing out there the suggestion there may have been an assassination plot against President Trump.

On Outnumbered today, Kevin Jackson said this in raising questions about the FBI:

“I think they will say, what was his intent, right? That is exactly what former FBI Director James Comey said when he was letting Hillary Clinton off the hook. And his intent, whether it was an assassination attempt or whether, definitely something — I am just saying, we do not know what it was. When you say, ‘we gotta make sure this guy doesn’t get in at all costs’ — what does that mean? I am saying, there is a spectrum of what does it mean, but one thing we know for sure, is that he was plotting in an election against a candidate, and there is FBI fingerprints all over this.”

The Fox News co-hosts pushed back, but as Tapper noted, this comes on the heels of Fox News hosts “talking about coups” and likening the FBI to the KGB.

Symone Sanders said this is “inflammatory” and “dangerous,” noting that a lot of people watch Fox News.

Kevin Madden agreed that it’s “highly irresponsible” and said that while there are substantive issues people can take with the Mueller probe, this goes well beyond that.
