CNN Reports ‘Suspicious’ Letter Addressed To Obama Intercepted

After reporting yesterday that a letter tainted with ricin poison had been sent to Sen. Roger Wicker (R-MS), CNN is now saying that a similar “suspicious” letter addressed to President Obama was intercepted and is being analyzed at an offsite mail facility. The Secret Service has not identified the substance at this time, but CNN speculated that it could be ricin, which would be in line with what authorities found in the previous letter addressed to Sen. Wicker.

We will post more information and video as it becomes available.

Watch the report via CNN below:

UPDATE (1pm ET): The FBI has confirmed that the letter sent to President Obama did contain the poison ricin. Officials told NBC News that they have a suspect in mind, but no arrests have been made at this time. They also indicated that there is no reason to believe the letters are connected to the bombings at the Boston Marathon.
