CNN Talks To Detroit Tigers’ Pitcher Armando Galarraga About ‘The Perfect Game That Wasn’t’
After being robbed of what is considered to be a legendary achievement in baseball, it must be hard to come up with words to express the feeling. That was overt this afternoon in Detroit Tigers pitcher Armando Galarraga, who was deprived of a perfect game by an umpire mistake Commissioner Bud Selig refused to amend.
At first, it seemed it was all coming back to Galarraga as he told CNN anchor Richard Lui to give him a moment to answer how he felt about the situation. But when he was asked how umpire Jim Joyce felt, he said, “I’m sure that guy felt worse than me, twenty times.” He felt it in his body language and his face, and said he didn’t keep any hard feelings because “he’s a professional, I’m a professional.” But he will tell his son that his daddy pitched a perfect game.
