Anderson Cooper has been all around the world, reporting from earthquakes, terror attacks, and wars, and he is now adding the virtual world to his list of coverage—landing a role on an upcoming episode of The Simpsons.
Cooper goes from moderating real life presidential debates to playing moderator of a smaller scale debate—Lisa’s second grade class election.
The debate will then shift from second grade to a fight for the White House in the year 2043:
“We flash to the future where they’re [engaged] in an actual presidential debate — and Anderson is the moderator,” Executive Producer Al Jean said.
Simpsons star Yeardley Smith (Lisa Simpson) couldn’t hold in her excitement, tweeting out this photo of her and Anderson, praising Cooper for three lines only he could pull off.

This will be Cooper’s first performance in an animated cartoon show.
