CNN’s Bakari Sellers Calls on Jeff Flake to Block Trump’s SCOTUS Pick: Have Some ‘Testicular Fortitude’
CNN commentator Bakari Sellers made some blunt remarks aimed at outgoing Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) regarding the intense battle over the Supreme Court.
On Wednesday, Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy announced that he will be retiring at the end of next month, leaving President Donald Trump to select his second appointee to the highest court in the land, which may leave SCOTUS conservative-leaning for a generation/
Well, despite the uphill battle Senate Democrats have in obstructing Trump’s nominee before the 2018 midterms, Sellers believes he may have found the solution in one of Trump’s most vocal Republican critics.
“The most important person in this entire debate is Jeff Flake,” Sellers declared. “Let’s just talk about this for a second… This Senate, just to do the math real quick, is 50-49 if John McCain doesn’t show up. It’s 50-49 with Mike Pence being the vote. Listen, Jeff Flake- that’s where we need to focus our effort. In Arizona, focusing on Jeff F lake who has nothing to lose. And if he wants to have some testicular fortitude and stand up to Trump, we can have a Justice who represents the United States of America. I don’t have any bets on that, Ibut I’m just saying if pigs flew.”
“He’s conservative. He probably supports conservative justices,” Don Lemon responded.
