CNN’s Stelter Applauds Fox Anchor Chris Wallace For Tough Interview With Sarah Sanders
On Sunday, CNN’s Brian Stelter applauded Fox News’ Chris Wallace for calling out White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders during a tough interview.
He started out by showing how Sanders tried to hype the threat at our nation’s borders.
“We know that roughly nearly 4,000 known or suspected terrorists come into our country illegally. And we know our most vulnerable point of entry is at our southern border,” Sanders claimed in the clip, pressing for the need for the border wall.
Wallace, however, wasn’t having it.
“Wait,” he interrupted, noting he had studied up on the facts. “Do you know where those 4,000 people come, where they’re captured? Airports.” Wallace pushed. The Fox anchor then added that the State Department has said that there haven’t been any terrorists that they found coming from the southern border.
“It is by air, land and sea. All of the above,” Sanders tried.
After the clip from the interview aired, Stelter said this: “All I want to say is thank you, Chris Wallace.”
CNN contributor Frank Bruni then echoed Stelter’s blessing of Wallace before noting that Sanders was trying to take two unrelated facts and wed them together.
“They are knowingly lying in the service of their political goal,” Bruni then said.
