CNN’s Brianna Keilar: ‘Scary Caravan Talk’ from Trump and Fox News Dropped a Lot After Midterms

CNN’s Brianna Keilar today noted how the “scary caravan talk” from President Donald Trump and Fox News has drastically dropped since the midterms.

The migrant caravan was a bit part of Trump’s closing message, and Keilar noted how he and Fox were “beating the drum on the looming so-called ‘invasion,’ as they put it, heading to the U.S. in the form of a caravan of migrants coming from south of the border.”

And as she pointed out, the President “billed it as a national emergency so urgent that he sent thousands of troops to the border to put up razor wire.”

Keilar went on to compare the President’s comments on the caravan in the week leading up to the election, as well as Fox News’ coverage, to how both have covered it in the week after. Fox News has continued to cover the caravan since last Tuesday, but Keilar said it’s clearly not as big a discussion topic as it was last week.

“It seems that we’ve gotten the all-clear, the emergency is over,” she concluded, “and the solution to the caravan invasion all along––it wasn’t the troops, it wasn’t walls, it was apparently just getting past the midterm elections.”
