CNN’s Burnett Nails Katrina Pierson After She Admits Signing NDA: If Trump Used N-Word, You Wouldn’t Tell Me Anyway
Trump campaign spokeswoman Katrina Pierson appeared on CNN Tuesday night for some cleanup after former White House official Omarosa Manigault Newman released a tape in which Pierson apparently claims the president used the N-word.
CNN host Erin Burnett grilled Pierson, a staffer on Trump’s 2020 campaign, on whether she could guarantee there isn’t a tape on which the president uses the racial epithet. Pierson rejected the question, maintaining she had “never heard him say the word.”
At the end of the interview, Burnett asked a revealing question.
“Did you ever sign an NDA with Trump?” the CNN host asked.
“Yes I did actually,” Pierson replied.
“So basically, if you had heard him say the N-word, you wouldn’t tell me about it anyway,” Burnett noted.
“No, I’m telling you the truth,” Pierson replied. “I’m not up here to lie. I’m telling you the absolute truth. I did sign an NDA with the campaign because everybody signed an NDA with the campaign.”
“I wouldn’t come on this program as a black woman, Erin, and tell you that someone didn’t say a derogatory term when they did,” she continued. “I would just leave the campaign — it’s that simple.”
