CNN Chief Political Analyst Gloria Borger said that President Trump‘s tweets about the mayor of London and the subsequent White House response illustrates that no one in the administration is willing to say the president made a mistake.
In case you missed it, this is what Trump tweeted:
At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is "no reason to be alarmed!"
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 4, 2017
Pathetic excuse by London Mayor Sadiq Khan who had to think fast on his "no reason to be alarmed" statement. MSM is working hard to sell it!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 5, 2017
Mayor Sadiq Khan‘s comment was made in the context of talking about an increased police presence in London over the next few days, following the terror attack Saturday.
Borger said on The Situation Room earlier tonight that the tweeting gives everyone an insight into “where is head is,” saying, “He’s full of grievance right now.”
But Sarah Huckabee Sanders said today that Trump did not misrepresent the mayor’s comments, leading Borger to conclude, “Nobody in the administration is willing to say the president made a mistake, which is exactly what he did in the middle of a terror attack.”
