CNN’s John King: Emails Show Clinton’s Own Staffers Think She’s ‘Nuts,’ ‘Secretive’
CNN host John King covered some of the latest hacked Hillary Clinton campaign emails Wednesday, focusing in particular in an exchange showing some of Clinton’s closest advisors trashing her handling of her private email server.
In emails between campaign chairman John Podesta and chief ally Neera Tanden, the pair slammed Clinton and her State Department staffers for keeping everyone in the dark, calling it “crazy” and “unbelievable.” “They wanted to get away with,” said a disbelieving Tanden.
“This shows you the angst even her campaign chairman wasn’t told until very late that she had a private email server in her Chappaqua, New York home when she was Secretary of State,” King recounted. “It shows you the secrecy– some would say paranoia– of Hillary Clinton and her inner circle.”
King remembered covering Clinton’s State Department chief of staff Cheryl Mills back when she handled Bill Clinton‘s impeachment defense. “It’s the, ‘we can keep this from people until the last possible second and only release if we’re forced to release it,'” he said.
“These are people who love her,” King said. “These are people who love her and support her saying she’s nuts and she’s secretive.”
