CNN’s Phil Mudd Rakes Manafort Over the Coals: ‘He Should Get the Boy Scout Badge for Lying’
Phil Mudd has no sympathy for former Trump campaign chair Paul Manafort.
On Thursday, Manafort was sentenced to 47 months in prison, below the 25 years he could have possibly faced.
Host Wolf Blitzer noted that President Donald Trump said he felt “very badly” for Manafort after the sentencing.
He then asked Mudd during a panel on Friday if he felt bad for Manafort, who has had a number of health woes while behind bars.
Mudd did not — at all.
“I don’t feel badly at all. He goes through probation. What does he say? I’m going to violate it. He comes up with an agreement. He says I will violate it. He goes before courts in the District of Columbia, two federal courts. Both say you’re guilty,” Mudd continued on.
He then said there is a bigger issue.
Manafort, he said could have stepped up and stood in front of the American people and said what happened during the campaign.
Instead, he said Manafort said he was humiliated “as he should be.”
“He should get the Boy Scout badge for lying,” Mudd stressed. “He lied every single day until the final day and he said maybe you could have leniency on me because my feet hurt. The dude needs to spend more time in jail and four years isn’t enough.”
