With ratings that consistently trail his Fox and MSNBC competitors, CNN’s Piers Morgan doesn’t have much to celebrate in the numbers that are released each day: Until now. According to a new study, the CNN host draws a higher percentage of female viewers than any other show across the cable news landscape.
Piers Morgan Live, which airs nightly at 9pm ET on CNN, drew an audience that is 56.4% female between the start of 2013 and November 11th.
As Variety’s Brian Steinberg reports, Morgan’s total female viewrship still trailed that of his two female time slot competitors significantly. Between September 30th and October 27th of this year, Morgan had an average female viewership of 330,000, while Fox News’ The Kelly File drew nearly 1.15 million and MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show brought in an average of 527,000.
As for the cable news show with the highest concentration of male viewers? No, it’s not The O’Reilly Factor, but MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow who took that honor with an estimated 53% male audience.
