CNN’s Smerconish Presses Roger Stone on Emails About Assange: ‘Were You BS-ing?’

CNN’s Michael Smerconish spoke with Roger Stone this morning following days of revelations about emails he sent regarding what he may have known or not known about what Wikileaks and Julian Assange were ready to release.

Stone reiterated to Smerconish that he was going off of information that Assange stated publicly and things he’d heard from his intermediary Randy Credico.

Smerconish actually started off the interview by asking Stone if he thinks he’s going to be indicted. Stone responded, “If the decision is made on the basis of evidence and facts and truth, the answer would be no. If this is a political vendetta, anything is possible.”

Smerconish went through the recent reports, including Stone’s email exchange with a Breitbart reporter asking what Assange has, and he asked Stone, “Well, what insight did you have to let him know that it was, or were you BS-ing?”

“No, hardly,” Stone said. “My source, Mr. Credico, had told me it is a bombshell, it’s devastating, it’s incredible, it will roil the race.”

“You were just taking his word?” Smerconish asked.

“Yes,” Stone insisted. “He had a 30-year relationship with a Wikileaks lawyer and he had interviewed Assange multiple times on radio.”
