CNN’s Michael Smerconish made the case this morning that even if public perceptions of President Trump haven’t changed, he could end up being a massively consequential president anyway.
“If the pace of change continues for the duration of Trump’s presidency, however long that might be,” he posited, “I think he could become the most consequential President in the modern era. Consequential meaning most important and significant, having the biggest overall impact.”
He made it clear he doesn’t necessarily mean consequential in a totally positive way, laying out a list of what the President has gotten done over the course of 2017.
Smerconish even argued that Time Magazine “got it wrong” in naming the women of the #MeToo movement Person of the Year instead of President Trump.
