Last night, President Obama delivered a major address lamenting the current state of journalism and saying the press needs to push harder. But CNN’s Jake Tapper showed today how he’s not exactly the best messenger for that idea…
Tapper said that it was a good message Obama made with “many salient points,” but it’s a little odd the president would tell the press to probe and dig deeper when accessing information has been made “more difficult by his administration” than any other in recent history.
He brought up how not only has Obama not delivered on his promise for transparency (in his remarks last night Obama said he’s delivered on what he said he was going to do), but FOIA obstruction has hit new records under his watch.
Tapper concluded by saying, “Mr. President, with all due respect… maybe your lecturing would be better delivered to your own administration.”
