CNN’s Toobin: Christine Ford Cross-Examination ‘Ineffective,’ Turning This Into ‘CSI: Chevy Chase’

Prosecutor Rachel Mitchell has been asking many questions of Christine Blasey Ford today, and CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin said during the second break of the hearing that he’s not impressed with the cross-examination.

Jake Tapper noted that Republicans don’t want Kavanaugh’s high school Mark Judge to testify because he would be a “horrible character witness.” Toobin agreed.

He said the hearing has gone badly for Kavanaugh so far before bringing up Mitchell:

“If we can dwell for a moment on just how ineffective this cross-examination has been, she’s trying to turn this into CSI: Chevy Chase. It’s just… what have they gotten out of it? The fact that she doesn’t like to fly, but she flies anyway. So what?”
