SNL‘s CNN broke the news tonight of who the Catholic Church has chosen to be the new leader of the Catholic Church: 9-year-old Oscar nominee Quvenzhané Wallis. The stunning news was broken by Jason Sudeikis as a mumbling, barely intelligible Wolf Blitzer.
Blitzer reacted to the news with a series of noises that appeared to be words, including cheering the first young black female Pope (played by host Kevin Hart) on with the encouraging “Go popey, go popey go!” Pope Quvenzhané celebrated her ascension to the papacy with a series of muscleman poses and chanting “Who da man?” in Latin.
One joke that elicited small moans from the audience was Blitzer observing that Pope Quvenzhané riding a cardinal like a horsey would not be the first time someone’s gotten ridden by a horse in the Vatican.
