Colbert Approves Ablow’s World Cup Theory: You’d Have to Be High to Be That Paranoid

While celebrating the USA’s kind-of victory in yesterday’s match against Germany, Stephen Colbert grew suspicious of his own sudden bandwaggoning onto World Cup sports. “Americans don’t care about the World Cup,” he realized. “I’m starting to suspect that the ‘World Cup’ might be some sort of organized global sporting event coordinated by dozens of foreign nations, in an attempt to grab a hold of our attention — even worse, they’re grabbing our attention with their feet.”

So once he heard Keith Ablow’s conspiracy theory that the World Cup, along with marijuana legalization, was just an Obama-fueled bread and circus to distract America from its problems, Colbert jumped on his theory. “Marijuana is clearly in play here,” he agreed, “because you’d have to be baked out of your gourd to be that paranoid.”
