Jon Stewart made a special appearance on The Late Show to help balance the negative jokes Stephen Colbert says about President Trump with compliments.
Colbert began by mocking Trump’s tweet attacking late night comedians, asking if he should get “equal time” instead of the constant “anti-Trump” humor. While his initial reaction was “no,” the host was feeling charitable and decided to give him “equal time” anyway “just to make [him] feel better.”
In walked the former Daily Show host. Colbert explained that he’ll give the “usual unfair slamming” of Trump and Stewart will give the “balance.”
Colbert kicked things off with an anti-Trump joke, Stewart then hesitated to say something positive.
“Can I have more time?” Stewart loudly whispered to Colbert.
After another moment of brainstorming, he came up with something.
“Donald Trump… is not a cannibal,” Stewart stated.
Colbert mocked Trump again and then Stewart chimed in.
“Given the choice between having hot lava poured into my pee hole and Donald Trump being president,” Stewart continued, “I’d choose lav-”
“Be positive!” Colbert interrupted.
“The latter,” Stewart corrected himself.
After Colbert made a joke about the Trump administration’s decision to rollback the Obamacare mandate on contraceptives, this following exchanged occurred.
STEWART: Donald Trump is great to women.
STEWART: Better than Harvey Weinstein.
