Stephen Colbert had some fun at President Trump‘s expense for his recent visit to Puerto Rico.
During a sit-down with Puerto Rican leaders, Trump joked that the cost of the recovery threw the country’s budget “a little out of whack.”
“What?!?” Colbert reacted. “That’s like a fireman rescuing you from a burning building and then saying, ‘You do understand what our water bill is going to be now.'”
The Late Show host said that Trump could “use some help with the small talk” after he told one of the victims of Hurricane Maria to “have a good time.”
“You’re at a disaster site!” Colbert exclaimed. “You’re not working the floor at your casino!”
He took shots at the president for tossing paper towels to a crowd of victims. “After that, he went to a hospital to distribute antibiotics with a t-shirt cannon,” he stated.
Colbert then ripped Trump when he was passing out flashlights and saying “you don’t need them anymore.”
“You don’t need them anymore?!?” he said in disbelief. “95% of the island still doesn’t have electricity!”
