After it was reported that President Donald Trump said he hates “everyone in the White House,” Late Show host Stephen Colbert finally found common ground with the president.
During a segment on a Vanity Fair report detailing the growing internal struggles of the current administration, the late night comedian had some fun mocking Trump and his cabinet. “Mr. President, I know exactly how you feel,” Colbert said in response to Trump hating “everyone in the White House.”
“But dislike, not hate — dislike intensely,” he added.
The Vanity Fair piece also reported that many staffers and officials close to Trump believe that he is reaching a new level of anger and frustration in the White House — a stage of “unraveling.”
Colbert also had some fun with this part of the report, sarcastically saying, “We could be reaching a whole new level of angry Trump… Keep in mind, that means up till now he’s been raveled!”
Additionally, Steve Bannon reportedly said that he believes Trump only has a “30 percent chance” of making it through his full term, as the former chief strategist thinks his cabinet will invoke the 25th Amendment and vote to remove him from office.
Colbert took this chance to warn the president that he really needs his cabinet “on [his] side,” even though “so much of Trump’s staff works for Russia.”
