Colbert to North Korea: ‘Leave Guam Out of This…They Didn’t Vote For Trump, Just Like Most Americans’

On Wednesday night, Stephen Colbert kicked off his show by addressing the increased tensions between the U.S. and North Korea.

“Renowned Deal Artist Donald Trump saw their threat of an apocalypse and raised them an armageddon,” he quipped.

He played the clip of Trump saying, “they will be met with fire and fury and, frankly, power the likes of which this world has never seen before.”

“Oh, we’ve seen it before,” Colbert reacted. “And you know what else we’ve seen? You using that phrase.”

Colbert then played a montage of Trump saying numerous variations of the phrase “the likes of which this world has never seen before.”

“That is empty rhetoric, the likes of which you always use,” he said.

The Late Show host then mentioned how North Korea threatened the U.S. territory of Guam in reaction to Trump’s comments.

“Look North Korea, leave Guam out of this!” he exclaimed. “They’re a U.S. territory. That means they don’t participate in the elections, okay? They didn’t vote for Trump, just like most Americans.”
