Colbert Mocks Jared Kushner’s Security Clearance Downgrade: ‘How Will He Fix The Middle East Now?!’

On Tuesday night, Stephen Colbert took some shots at President Trump and  numerous White House officials for various controversies, testimonies, and, well, tweets.

He kicked things off by mocking top White House adviser and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner for having his security clearances downgraded.

“What’s wrong with you people?!? How will he fix the Middle East now?!?” Colbert exclaimed. “He was so close to starting!”

Colbert joked that since Kushner no longer has access to top secret information, he will only have access to “nine herbs and spices” instead of eleven.

He then took aim at the president for his “WITCH HUNT!” tweet he made Tuesday morning.

“He’s either really upset about [Robert] Mueller‘s investigation or he’s taking a very strong stance in defense of Ryan Seacrest,” Colbert quipped.

That was in reference to allegations of sexual harassment that surfaced about the American Idol host from his former personal stylist Suzie Hardy.

The Late Show host also mocked the closed-door testimony of White House Communications Director Hope Hicks, who reportedly refused to answer many questions, one lawmaker saying they were “Bannoned,” which was a reference to former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon‘s testimony.

“I thought getting ‘Bannoned’ was when you wake up in a bathtub full of ice without your kidneys,” Colbert reacted.

Colbert stressed that the ongoing investigations into Russia are important because of their undisputed interference in the 2016 election, from “effective methods like Facebook ads and Twitter bots to total dead ends like Don Jr.
