President Barack Obama‘s executive order to expand overtime pay rules bypassed Congress’s attempts to block his reform, and has conservatives up in arms about forced income redistribution. And no conservative has his arms higher in the air than Stephen Colbert.
Calling the President “Emperor Obama,” Colbert defended Congress’s opposition to expanding the definition of overtime pay. “And why should they?” Colbert argued. “They never work overtime. Or time, for that matter.”
He then sided with Fox Business Network’s Neil Cavuto, who earlier that day, wondered if Obama was attempting some sort of Marxist “forced income redistribution,” and if the President was trying to pay people who “don’t deserve those bucks.”
“You start paying people who don’t deserve it,” Colbert agreed, “and before you know it, you end up with Neil Cavuto.”
