Comey: ‘If I Had to Do It Over,’ I Would’ve Left Comments on Trump’s Appearance Out of Book
James Comey said that he’s starting to have second thoughts about the parts of his new book where he wrote some less-than-flattering descriptions of President Trump‘s physical appearance.
Those comments have drawn flak among pro-Trump circles in the last few days, and they came during his appearance on The View. Sara Haines said she understood that he was trying to draw readers into his account, but she pressed him on whether it was really worth it to include those Trump-like comments in his recollections.
“I think you’re right,” Comey answered. “If I had to do it over again, I wouldn’t put that paragraph in.”
Comey defended himself by insisting that he wasn’t picking on Trump, and that his book gives detailed descriptions on the appearances of many other people. Still, Comey acknowledged that the parts about Trump gave critics a free opportunity to trash his book as a whole.
