Conan O’Brien Mocks Evangelicals For ‘Normalizing Porn’: They Support Anyone Screaming ‘Oh, God!’

TBS late-night talk show host Conan O’Brien weighed-in on the Stormy Daniels controversy by suggesting that, despite their moral stance against pornography, evangelicals are mainstreaming porn because of their continued support for President Donald Trump.

With porn star Daniels’ alleged 2006 affair with Donald Trump dominating the news cycle at the moment, O’Brien pointed to poll numbers that suggest support for the president has actually gone up amid the scandal, even though a large portion of his supporters are evangelical Christians.

The host said the following during last night’s airing of Conan:

“What do you make of this whole Stormy Daniels. I mean, it’s consuming the nation — there’s a different porn star or stripper every night talking about exactly what they did with the president of the United States. It’s crazy… Despite the Stormy Daniels scandal, President Trump’s popularity has actually gone up, did you know that? It’s gone up, yes it’s gone up! Some people are saying that because evangelicals are supporting Donald Trump, they’re actually helping to bring porn into the mainstream.”

O’Brien continued the riff by comparing Christian prayer to sexual moaning.

“Yeah, they’re saying that evangelicals are helping normalize porn,” joked O’Brien. “In response, evangelicals say we’re in support of any situation that makes people scream, ‘Oh, god.’ I thought that was fascinating.”
