Cory Booker Knocks Bill Barr: He’s Acted More Like a Rudy Giuliani Than an Attorney General

2020 candidate Senator Cory Booker spoke with MSNBC’s Ari Melber today about the Mueller report and his issues with Attorney General Bill Barr.

“He has been acting more like Donald Trump‘s personal lawyer, more like a Rudy Giuliani, than the independent head of the Department of Justice,” Booker said. “Anybody who takes a fair reading of that report with its redactions sees misconduct rife within this administration.”

Booker, who has called on Barr to resign, said “we need to answer” the question of whether President Donald Trump obstructed justice, which includes public testimony from Robert Mueller and getting the underlying documents.

“I have a role in the United States Senate,” Booker said when Melber pressed him further, “which is the jury after impeachment has been passed by the House… So right now even Nancy Pelosi is saying let’s continue this investigation and go where the facts lead us. And then if they pass those articles of impeachment, the Senate sits as a jury.”
