Could NYE Co-Hosts Anderson Cooper And Kathy Griffin Be Getting Their Own Show On CNN?

As anyone who has turned on CNN on New Year’s Eve over the past few years knows, Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin have a very special relationship. And now, CNN president Jeff Zucker may be ready to take advantage of their chemistry more than just once a year.

Deadline is reporting that Cooper and Griffin taped a pilot episode of a potential show for CNN today at the Time Warner Center in New York. According to writer Nellie Andreeva, the hour-long show was filmed in front of a live studio audience and, not surprisingly, contained “a lot of humor.” Zucker himself was said to be on set watching the pilot taping.

With his syndicated talk show ending after this summer, Cooper could, somehow, have the time on his hands to produce an additional daily show. And while Griffin’s weekly talk show on Bravo just entered its second season, a move to CNN would certainly be a step up and a chance to reach a wider audience.

If haven’t seen Cooper and Griffin in action together, watch them get frisky during CNN’s New Year’s Eve 2012 coverage:
