A spokesman for the Connecticut state police and the governor’s office held a joint press conference on Friday to clarify the what their responses are to mass shooting at a Connecticut elementary school.
A spokesman for the Connecticut governor’s office insisted that much of the relevant information relating to the victims and the perpetrator were being withheld until next of kin could be notified.
“There were several fatalities at the scene, both students and staff,” said Connecticut State Police Lt. Paul Vance.
“The shooter is deceased inside the building,” he continued. Vance assured that the scene of the attack is secure and the incident is over.
At the close of the press conference, a spokesperson said that Gov. Dan Malloy received a call from President Barack Obama who expressed his condolences and the condolences of the nation for this atrocity.
