Dallas Mayor Says City Calm, Attending Cowboys Game: Only ‘Mean People’ Creating Fear
The past week’s seen much televised nail-biting over the first case of ebola diagnosed on American soil, but one person who didn’t get the freakout memo is Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings, who told MSNBC Tuesday morning that while his city is taking the presence of ebola within its borders seriously, nobody is acting like they’re in Blindness.
“We had an all-time opening of our state fair over the last week,” Rawlins told Morning Joe. “92,000 people showed up to the Cowboys game. I went to a big Oktoberfest. People are out and about. This is a great time to be in Dallas. The weather’s good. I don’t see any pulling back on that. Folks are going to school. But we’re serious. We understand that this is a very tough issue. But I think it’s only the mean people that are creating some of this fear.”
Equating grace under pressure to Tony Romo is just asking for it.
